The Badminton World Federation has approved renovation and cleaning work at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium before the World Championships, according to NDTV. The tournament begins on August 17. The Badminton Association of India said the venue was completely renovated after criticism during the India Open over cleanliness, practice courts and air quality. BAI secretary general Sanjay Mishra said walls, toilets and floors were refurbished, while Malaysian specialists were brought in for lighting. He said the India Open served as a test event.
