Forensic tests showed he had been drugged, strangled, bludgeoned, and electrocuted on his private parts. Police said the wife, Manju, colluded with lover Chaman to kill her husband over a troubled marriage and Lal’s refusal to give money. She allegedly spiked his dinner with sleeping pills. The two then attacked him and ransacked the house. CCTV footage helped police crack the case.
