Basavaraj, who studies and works for a quick-commerce platform, told police that a group of girls first abused him. When he asked them to explain in Kannada, they allegedly pulled his cap and called male accomplices. The group beat him on the head, back and nose, causing bleeding injuries, and struck a friend who came to help. A case has been registered under the BNS for voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation and common intention, and investigations are ongoing. The NDTV version places the incident at 3.30 am and reports that the victim said he was abused in Hindi.
