# Dental surgeon Dr Prabha Srivastava to perform at Lucknow Monsoon Mehfil 2026-08-22T14:52:16+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Dental surgeon Dr Prabha Srivastava will present ghazals, film songs and an original composition at the Monsoon Mehfil at Dilkusha Club in Lucknow on Sunday. The event, held in a traditional baithak format, will feature rain-themed songs including Rimjhim Gire Sawan, Saawan Ka Mahina, and ghazals by Jagjit Singh and Papon. Srivastava, who recently worked as a dental officer at Army Hospital, said she curated the song list keeping GenZ audiences in mind, as many youngsters now attend her concerts. She will perform her original song Woh Nahin Mera Magar for the first time, composed by her with lyrics by Mumbai-based poetess Deepti Mishra. A student of ghazal singer Talat Aziz, Srivastava will be accompanied by Rinku Raj on keyboard, Ambuj Gupta on percussion, Monty on guitar and Satyam on flute. The event will also include an influencer meet on Roots to Reel. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The Monsoon Mehfil continues Lucknow's tradition of baithak-style intimate concerts, a format rooted in Awadhi culture that has declined with the rise of large auditorium events. For a dental surgeon moonlighting as a classical singer, such platforms offer visibility beyond the clinic. The inclusion of an original composition signals a shift from pure covers to creative output, a common career milestone for semi-professional musicians in north India. Sunday's audience mix of GenZ listeners and traditional ghazal fans will test whether the curated playlist bridges generational tastes. Watch for whether the event leads to recording deals or album launches, as Srivastava has indicated she is working on a ghazal album. ## Coverage - hindustantimes.com Straight event announcement with no government or political framing, no attribution of controversy or opinion.
