# Dhanush, Kareena in talks for Bhansali mythological film 2026-08-20T15:01:23+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 3 independent outlets Filmmaker PS Mithran has confirmed that discussions are underway for a potential project starring Dhanush and possibly Kareena Kapoor, backed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Mithran told reporters during promotions for Sardar 2 that talks are ongoing and an official announcement will be made once finalized. Earlier reports had suggested the film would be a mythological jungle drama. According to odishatv.in, Kareena Kapoor is also in talks to join the cast, which would mark her first on-screen pairing with Dhanush and her first collaboration with Bhansali. 123telugu.com reports the film was initially offered to Ram Charan, who did not accept. m9.news emphasizes the project is not yet officially confirmed. Odishatv.in adds that pre-production could begin in November 2026 with shooting in January 2027, but Kareena's availability depends on her commitment to Meghna Gulzar's crime thriller Daayra. ## Indian Opinion Analysis 123telugu.com and m9.news focus on Mithran's confirmation of talks, while odishatv.in adds speculation about Kareena's casting and production timelines that are not confirmed by the filmmaker. The common ground is that nothing is finalized. A measured reader should note that only Mithran's quote is a primary source, all other details remain unverified buzz. Watch for an official announcement from Bhansali Productions before treating any cast or release dates as firm. ## Coverage Coverage: 3 sources, 2 neutral, 1 sensationalist - 123telugu.com (neutral report) Reports Mithran's statement without speculation - m9.news (neutral report) Repeats buzz but sticks to Mithran's quote - odishatv.in (sensationalist) Leads with Kareena speculation and unconfirmed timelines This story was synthesised by AI from the 3 sources linked above.
