Dia Mirza has spoken to NDTV about how Netflix’s Operation Safed Sagar took her back to 1999, when she was not yet 18. The series focuses on the Kargil War, military families and the women who supported their loved ones during the conflict. Mirza plays Kamalpreet Kaur Dhanoa, a character portraying the resilience of those women. Speaking ahead of Independence Day, Mirza told Bollywood Hungama that patriotism means people living with “freedom from fear”, security, love and the ability to pursue their rights and ambitions.
