Farhan Akhtar posted a nostalgic tribute on Instagram as his directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai completed 25 years on Monday. In the post, Akhtar wrote: 'Can't believe it's been 25 years.. Akash, Sameer and Sid don't look like they've aged a day!!!!' He thanked the audience for keeping the film alive and relevant. The 2001 coming-of-age film starred Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna as three friends navigating life and love, with Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni and Dimple Kapadia in key roles. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. Farhan Akhtar's film is widely credited with ushering in a new era of 'cool' Hindi cinema.
