# Dileep and Manju Warrier attend same event after years 2026-08-19T17:06:05+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Actors Dileep and Manju Warrier shared a stage at the inauguration of Magic Frames Cinemas' new theatre complex in Kakkanad, Kerala, on Wednesday. Onmanorama reports the event was attended by Chief Minister V D Satheesan and several Malayalam film personalities including Prithviraj, Jayasurya and Kunchacko Boban. The former couple, who divorced in 2015, did not interact directly but their presence at the same event for the first time in years has generated discussion on social media. Hindustan Times notes their marriage lasted from 1998 to 2015 and they have a daughter together. The new multiplex is Magic Frames' 50th screen, making it the largest theatre chain in Kerala. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Onmanorama leads with the technical milestone of Magic Frames' 50th theatre, mentioning the couple only indirectly. Hindustan Times leads with the couple's divorce and the actress assault case, using the theatre launch as a backdrop. Hindustan Times provides substantial background on the divorce and trial, a context Onmanorama omits entirely. Hindustan Times' framing is sensationalist, prioritising personal drama and historical scandal over the business news. A careful reader should note that both outlets confirm the couple did not interact, the core news remains the theatre expansion, not the reunion. The next milestone to watch is the Kerala High Court's verdict on the actress's appeal against Dileep's acquittal, expected later this year. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 1 neutral, 1 sensationalist - onmanorama.com (neutral report) Leads with the inauguration of the 50th Magic Frames screen, mentions former couple's presence as a secondary talking point among fans. - hindustantimes.com (sensationalist) Leads with the divorce and 2017 assault case, uses theatre launch as backdrop for reunion angle, adding background on trial and acquittal.
