# Divya Dutta, Jimmy Shergill to star in Tum Rahe Na Tum 2026-08-21T04:02:16+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Divya Dutta and Jimmy Shergill will lead the cast of Tum Rahe Na Tum, a psychological relationship drama directed by Prem Prakash Modi. The film is an adaptation of Swedish playwright August Strindberg's play The Father and is set in an Indian family. It explores themes of love, control, insecurity, parental expectations, toxic masculinity and ego. Produced by Vinni Chawla and Sonu Katyal under Fanatically Filmi Pvt Ltd, the film features an ensemble cast including Harsh Chhaya, Zarina Wahab and Rajesh Jais. Director Modi said the combination of Shergill and Dutta brings the layered, lived-in relationship the story demands. Dutta described the story as human and uncomfortable, with no character entirely innocent or guilty. ## Indian Opinion Analysis This film marks the latest Indian adaptation of a classic Western play, following recent trend of reimagining foreign works in domestic settings. The Father, originally a 19th-century naturalist drama about marital power struggles, has been adapted across languages but rarely in Hindi cinema. The choice of Shergill and Dutta, both known for nuanced character work, suggests a focus on performance over spectacle. The project is still in pre-production, a release date has not been announced. ## Coverage - bollywoodhungama.com Straightforward announcement of casting and production details, with no editorialising or sensational framing.
