# Delhi Jal Board to attach commercial properties with water bills over Rs 25 lakh

The Delhi Jal Board has started issuing notices to commercial property owners with pending water bills of over Rs 25 lakh. Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh said on Thursday that 1,025 such properties have been identified. The government has set a deadline of August 15 for defaulters to pay, after which the DJB may attach or seal the properties. The Delhi government aims to recover Rs 5,000 crore in pending dues through a late payment surcharge waiver scheme, which waives LPSC worth Rs 11,000 crore. The Times of India reports that the 100% waiver has been extended until March 31, 2027, giving consumers a last chance to clear dues without penalties. Over 5.2 lakh consumers have already availed the scheme, with DJB recovering Rs 815.84 crore in principal amount.
