# DRI busts two drug smuggling attempts, arrests three

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested two businessmen from Maharashtra for allegedly trying to smuggle two lakh Tramadol tablets to Nigeria. The DRI intercepted a consignment at the Air Cargo Complex in Mumbai booked by Vipra Pharmaceuticals and declared as Pregabalin capsules. Instead, officials found one lakh Tapentadol/Tramadol tablets and one lakh Tramadol Hydrochloride tablets, both psychotropic substances under the NDPS Act. In a separate operation, the DRI arrested a Nigerian woman at Ratlam Junction in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly carrying two kg of amphetamine worth Rs 1.6 crore. Officials said she was travelling by train from New Delhi to Mumbai with the drugs concealed in her trolley bag. She was produced before a court and remanded to DRI custody until August 11.
