# 12-year-old girl crushed under DTC bus in East Delhi

A 12-year-old girl was killed when a Delhi Transport Corporation bus hit the scooter she was riding pillion with her uncle in East Delhi's New Ashok Nagar on Friday morning. The victim, identified as Kayna Pal, fell under the bus and was crushed by its wheels, police said. She was declared dead at the spot. The driver, S K Murad (45), was apprehended; Hindustan Times reports he fled after the accident. Her body was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. An investigation is underway.
