# Duchovny and Anderson to return for X-Files reboot, says creator

The X-Files creator Chris Carter has said Gillian Anderson will likely appear in Ryan Coogler's reboot of the series, and he assumes David Duchovny will join her. Speaking to Polygon, Carter confirmed he has not seen Coogler's version yet and cautioned that his statements are not official. The original show ran from 1993 for nine seasons, with revival seasons in 2016 and 2018. Duchovny and Anderson played FBI agents Mulder and Scully. Coogler is also set to direct Black Panther III.
