# BCCI secretary promises more Duleep Trophy matches on TV

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia announced that the number of Duleep Trophy matches being televised will increase this season. Speaking on Sunday, Saikia said the Board will explore staging the final at a stadium. Last year, the 2025-26 edition of the tournament was held at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence without live broadcast and behind closed doors due to government restrictions on the use of the facility. The 2026-27 season begins on August 23 at the CoE. Saikia acknowledged the demand from fans for greater access and confirmed the Board is working on a solution to host the final in a proper venue with seating capacity.
