Earthquake-induced hydrogen formation presents intriguing possibilities for renewable energy exploration globally, including India. As one of the fastest-growing economies, India’s dependence on traditional fossil fuels has led to environmental challenges and heightened demand for cleaner alternatives like green hydrogen. While research on such subterranean sources of hydrogen is nascent, leveraging advancements in this field could align with India’s push towards sustainability under its National Hydrogen Energy Mission. Moreover, geological studies around tectonic zones within or near India could reveal untapped potential that might help transition to eco-friendly energy solutions while diversifying resources beyond conventional mining.
