Police arrested a man after an eight-year-old girl, who went missing after leaving school in Narsinghpur district on August 5, was found dead in a forest area following an overnight search. Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Meena said nine teams and villagers searched nearby areas for about eight hours. Hindustan Times reports the accused is 22 and had joined the search while pretending to help find the child. Police said blood stains, a sniffer dog trail and mobile phone evidence linked him to the crime. The accused allegedly took the girl from outside school, raped her and killed her.
