The proposed portal is being tested as EPFO builds a national database. About 30.91 lakh inoperative accounts hold nearly Rs 9,330 crore, according to the report. Accounts become inoperative after three years without contributions. The platform will initially serve members with old Member Identification Numbers issued before the UAN system began in October 2014. It may match these accounts to existing UANs, merge them or support withdrawals, while members without a UAN could receive one.
