# EV retail sales hit record 3.28 lakh units in July, up 66%

India’s EV retail sales hit a record 327,901 units in July, up 66% year-on-year, with nearly one in eight vehicles sold now electric, according to FADA data. The previous record was set in June at 306,220 units. Two-wheelers crossed the 2-lakh mark for the first time at 204,362 units, led by TVS Motor. Three-wheelers grew 25% to 87,055 units, while passenger EVs rose 83% to 32,928 units, led by Tata Motors. Electric commercial vehicles nearly tripled to 3,556 units. FADA Vice President Sai Giridhar said the EV transition is now a showroom reality
