Police in Nonthaburi, Thailand, arrested former local MP Chalong Riewrang on Monday for allegedly shooting and wounding a local government official and his driver. Provincial police chief Dejrapee Kongdee told AFP that the two victims were taken to hospital, with the official seriously injured. Local media reported a private dispute as the likely motive. The arrest came three days after a 14-year-old boy killed his grandparents and six others at his school in the same province before shooting himself. The massacre was Thailand's deadliest mass shooting since 2022.
