Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said he would be disappointed if Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana did not win an Oscar. He made the remark on August 6 after visiting producer Namit Malhotra’s studio in Mumbai and called the project “a film of the millennium”. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, and is being made in two parts. The first instalment is scheduled for worldwide release on November 6, 2026, two days before Diwali, according to Sony Pictures. The second is expected around Diwali 2027, though its date is not confirmed. ABP News reports the film’s budget at Rs 4,000 crore, a figure not mentioned by The Times of India.
