Family conflict was a more common counselling concern than academic stress among students in a clinical study by Cadabams Hospitals, The Hindu reports. Anxiety accounted for 29% of concerns across 3,569 counselling sessions, followed by family conflict at 14% and academic stress at 10%. Relationship distress made up 8% and loneliness 7%. Students aged 16 to 18 in pre-university colleges recorded the highest share of self-harm concerns among the educational groups assessed. The study drew on more than 58,000 student touchpoints across over 20 institutions, with nearly 92% from Bengaluru. Engineering students most often sought help for relationship distress and ADHD-related concerns, while law students had the highest density of high-risk cases.
