The Malvani Police acted on a rape complaint by a 33-year-old actress. Mid-day reports that Noorani called her to his Malvani home to discuss a film, gave her a drink that made her unconscious, and then sexually assaulted her. He also allegedly threatened to circulate a video he recorded. A case has been registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The woman first met Noorani in 2016 at an award show. She says the assaults happened repeatedly and that he gave her contraceptive pills. Police have sought his custody to check if offences occurred at other locations. Noorani's lawyer Vikas Singh Goar says his client is falsely implicated and presumed innocent until proven guilty.
