Delhi Police on Friday arrested a firefighter from Chandigarh as the alleged kingpin of an interstate cheating racket that used ChatGPT and concealed electronics to help candidates pass government recruitment exams. The syndicate charged up to ₹12 lakh per candidate, supplying customised phones, Bluetooth devices, and nano earbuds to relay answers from a car converted into a mobile control room. Seven people have been arrested, including two candidates caught during a Sanskrit University LDC exam in Delhi on May 26. One arrested intermediary, Sanni, had already secured a job at Delhi University’s Lady Irwin College through the same method, police said. Authorities are now alerting institutions to take action against fraudulent appointees.
