At least five people (kalingatv.com) or more than eight people (odishatv.in) were injured in a group clash in Odisha’s Puri district late on Sunday, 11 October, during a Ganesh idol immersion procession. The dispute began when some people objected to DJ music being played at high volume past midnight, leading to an argument that turned violent. OdishaTV reports that the clash took place at Khandigaon village under Pipili police limits, while Kalinga TV places it at Kandi village under Delanga police limits. Several motorcycles were vandalised in the incident. All injured have been admitted to Pipili hospital, and police were deployed to the area to prevent further trouble.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

The two reports agree on the basic incident, a clash in Puri district over DJ music volume during a Ganesh idol immersion, but differ on the casualty count, with kalingatv.com putting the injured at five and odishatv.in at more than eight. odishatv.in provides richer detail: a location name (Khandigaon village under Pipili police limits, not Kandi village under Delanga), a Sunday night (11 October) timing, and a resident’s account blaming the other group for an attack after a request to lower the volume, while kalingatv.com reports the same request sequence without attribution. Both name the Pipili hospital, but only odishatv.in specifies police deployment and vehicle vandalism, aspects kalingatv.com also notes. Neither outlet critiques the administration, the coverage is straight reporting of a local law-and-order event. The police presence in Khandigaon remains the concrete step to watch.
