# Odisha floods force 41,000 to relocate, rain to continue

Floods in northern Odisha have forced more than 41,000 people to relocate as heavy rain continued, officials said on Friday. The flooding has affected 429 villages in six districts, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Sundargarh and Keonjhar. Rivers including the Baitarani, Budhabalanga, Jalaka and Subarnarekha have crossed or are near danger marks. The India Meteorological Department has warned of more heavy rain and a flash-flood risk in 11 districts, with an orange warning for four western districts. The Odisha government has opened 127 relief centres and deployed 79 rescue teams, including teams from the NDRF and ODRAF.
