# Flash flood in Udhampur sweeps away couple, one body recovered

A body has been recovered after a couple was swept away in a flash flood in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Thursday evening. The couple, Baldev (58) and Maya Devi (53), were crossing a nallah while grazing cattle when the strong current washed them away. Rescue teams are searching for the second person. Union Minister Jitendra Singh spoke to the district deputy commissioner. The IMD has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall and possible flash floods across Jammu division from August 9 to 11.
