A woman lost her arm after a nearly 10-foot alligator attacked her while she was paddleboarding in Silver River, Florida, on Saturday. The reptile grabbed her arm and dragged her underwater, the Times of India reports, citing FOX35. A nearby boater, John Gamache, heard the family's screams, scared the alligator away with his boat, and used a rope to tie off the wound, controlling the bleeding until first responders arrived. The woman was discharged from hospital on Sunday and is recovering at home. Marion County officials measured the alligator at 9 feet 8 inches and reopened the river after it was removed. The incident follows two other recent attacks, including the death of Brittany Clark and the loss of a hand by 11-year-old Brodie Terry.
