# 4 die inhaling toxic gas in Bihar well; Rs 4 lakh ex gratia announced

Four people died after inhaling toxic gas while repairing a motor inside a well at Garh Karmauni village in Bihar's Gaya district, officials said. The deceased were identified as Chamari Manjhi, his son Dilchand Manjhi, Vikas Chaudhary and Vijay Chaudhary, the Hindustan Times reported citing police. Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary expressed grief on X and directed officials to provide Rs 4 lakh ex gratia each to the victims' families. The incident occurred in the Dobhi police station area. SSP Sushil Kumar said all four had reportedly inhaled toxic gas inside the well.
