The victims were trapped underneath the vehicle and rescued by police, fire services personnel and an NHAI team using a crane. They were taken to the Community Health Centre in Gosainganj, where three were declared dead. The fourth died while being taken to a trauma centre. Police identified the deceased as Sandeep Rawat, Pitambar Rawat, Pawan Rawat and Balram Rawat, all from Barabanki district. Pitambar was the tractor driver at a brick kiln in Kothi, while the others loaded and unloaded bricks. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.
