# Ganga, Ghaghra, Sharda cross danger mark in UP after heavy rain

The Central Water Commission has warned that the Ganga, Ghaghra and Sharda have crossed the danger mark in Barabanki, Kaushambi and Lakhimpur Kheri after heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In Prayagraj, the Yamuna rose 10 cm in 24 hours to 75.98 metres at Naini, while the Ganga rose nearly a metre over the past week but stayed well below the danger level of 84.73 metres. Officials say water was released from upstream barrages, including 2,61,233 cusecs from Kanpur. A 24x7 control room is monitoring river levels.
