R. Madhavan's biographical film 'GDN' earned Rs 1.13 crore on day 3, its best single-day collection yet, according to Sacnilk. The Tamil-Telugu film's India net stands at Rs 2.69 crore after three days. The Tamil version contributed Rs 2.43 crore, while the Telugu version added Rs 26 lakh. The film, about inventor G. D. Naidu, has received a 2/5 rating from Cinema Express, which criticised artificial production design, one-dimensional villains and a narrow focus on nationalism over Naidu's social justice work. ETimes gave 3 stars, noting the film does not hide Naidu's flaws but struggles with scale.
