# Ghaziabad Teen’s Severed Hand Reattached in 7-Hour Surgery

An 18-year-old construction worker from Hapur, Ghaziabad, has had his completely amputated right hand reattached in a seven-hour microsurgery at Yashoda Medicity. The teenager lost his hand when it got trapped in a machine at a construction site on July 21. Doctors first stabilised the fractured wrist bones, then used microscopes to reconnect small blood vessels, arteries, veins, tendons and nerves. Blood supply was restored, and the patient was discharged in stable condition. Recovery of nerve function and movement is expected to take months, with physiotherapy needed to regain strength and mobility.
