GMR Aero Technic has signed a licence agreement with Honeywell Aerospace to repair critical engine components for Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX planes in Hyderabad, boosting India's aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities. The deal covers seven Honeywell line replaceable units (LRUs) used in LEAP engines, including disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly and functional testing. The partnership aims to reduce turnaround time for Indian and regional airlines, cutting reliance on overseas repair centres. GMR Aero Technic's president Ashok Gopinath said the collaboration leverages Honeywell's technology and the firm's infrastructure, while Honeywell's Cooper Cullen called India one of the world's fastest-growing aviation markets.
