# Google Maps adds Hindi and real-time transit updates in India

Google has updated its Gemini-powered Ask Maps feature in India with Hindi support and real-time public transport information. The tool can answer natural-language questions, remember earlier conversations and offer more personalised recommendations through Personal Intelligence. Google calls this its biggest Maps overhaul in more than a decade. Business Today reports that Ask Maps can identify restaurants serving requested dishes and direct users to partner services for ordering, while also helping find hotels and local events. These agentic features are currently rolling out in the US. Personal Intelligence, which can use Gmail and Calendar data, is opt-in and available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico and more than 150 countries and territories in English.
