# ED director Rahul Navin gets one-year extension till August 2027

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has extended Enforcement Director Rahul Navin’s tenure by one year, keeping him in the post until August 13, 2027, or until further orders. The order, issued on Saturday, also allows the 1993-batch IRS officer to continue beyond his superannuation date of July 31, 2027. Navin has served as full-time ED chief since August 14, 2024. During his tenure, the ED launched high-profile probes into the I-PAC political consultancy, the Reliance Anil Ambani Group, and online gaming firms. The agency also used anti-money laundering provisions to restore assets worth over Rs 35,000 crore to victims, mostly from real estate fraud cases, and began reducing long-pending litigation under the repealed FERA.
