# Immortal clears censorship with U/A certificate, releases September 4 2026-08-19T19:25:18+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets GV Prakash and Kayadu Lohar's film Immortal has cleared censorship formalities and received a U/A certificate, the makers announced. The film is set for release on September 4. Written and directed by Mariyappan Chinna, the movie is produced by Arunkumar Dhanasekaran under AK Film Factory. Cinemaexpress.com reports that the film follows GV Prakash's character who is haunted by a monster after approaching his neighbour. However, m9.news quotes GV Prakash describing Immortal as a survival thriller featuring a 2,000-year-old vampire, calling it a new genre attempt for Tamil cinema. Plot details remain largely under wraps. The cast includes TM Karthik, Kumar Natarajan, Lollu Sabha Maaran, and others. Sam CS has composed the music, continuing his collaboration with GV Prakash after Siren and Blackmail. The film will hit theatres on September 4. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Cinemaexpress.com offers a straight production-news report focusing on censorship and technical credits, while m9.news leads with the vampire angle and GV Prakash's description of a new genre attempt, adding dramatic flair. The key difference is tone: one treats it as a routine release announcement, the other hypes it as a novelty. A careful reader should note that neither source has seen the film, the actual execution of the survival-thriller-vampire concept remains unverified until the September 4 release. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 1 neutral, 1 sensationalist - cinemaexpress.com (neutral report) Straightforward censorship clearance and crew announcement, no hype - m9.news (sensationalist) Leads with the vampire angle and GV Prakash's new genre claim This story was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above.
