The commitments from nearly 18 companies are expected to create close to 4,000 jobs. The latest round takes the zone’s cumulative commitments to Rs 5,500 crore and projected employment to more than 18,000. Launched on July 30 by the Department of Telecommunications and Madhya Pradesh government, the zone aims to bring manufacturers, component makers, technology firms and infrastructure providers together. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the project would support domestic value addition, Indian intellectual property and exports of locally designed telecom products.
