# Hariharan Decodes Gen Z Slang, Wins Praise From Fans

Veteran singer Hariharan has shared a playful video in which he tries to understand Gen Z expressions such as “slay”, “no cap”, “GOAT” and “slap”. The Times of India reports that fans praised the singer’s effort, with some calling him a legend and a GOAT. Hariharan said he was “slowly getting there” and invited fans to meet him in Mumbai on 22 August. Hariharan’s playback career began with the 1978 Hindi film Gaman after he won the All India Sur Singaar competition in 1977. He has reportedly recorded more than 5,000 songs in 10 languages. His work includes Tu Hi Re, Uyire Uyire and Thamizha Thamizha. He received the Padma Shri in 2004.
