# HDFC Bank shares fall 12% in 2 months, hit 2-year low

HDFC Bank's share price hit an over-two-year low of Rs 726.50 on Tuesday, down 1 per cent in intra-day trade, Times Now reports. The stock has fallen 12 per cent in the last two months, while the BSE Sensex rose 0.74 per cent. For the fifth consecutive quarter, foreign portfolio investors reduced their holding to 41.83 per cent at end-June 2026, from 44.05 per cent in March. Domestic institutional investors increased their stake to 41.9 per cent from 36.3 per cent in September 2025. The bank recently cut its marginal cost of funds-based lending rate by 5 basis points, bringing the range to 8-8.65 per cent. In calendar 2026, HDFC Bank shares have dropped 27 per cent, far outpacing the Sensex's 8.2 per cent decline.
