# Over 50 students ill after Tiranga Yatras in UP, MP

More than 50 students fell ill during Tiranga Yatras in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on August 12 and 13. Over 40 girls from Deoria, UP, suffered dizziness and fainting due to heat and prolonged sun exposure during a march. In Singrauli, MP, 12 students collapsed after walking nearly six kilometres to the venue, National Herald India reports. Officials said all students were out of danger. Deoria district magistrate Madhusudan Hulgi attributed the incident to excitement, saying students did not drink enough water. He added he would not blame them. In Singrauli, teachers took affected students to a health centre; all were discharged within an hour. The rallies were organised by district administrations ahead of Independence Day.
