# Jharkhand government cancels JPSC exam, students seek CBI probe

The Jharkhand government on Sunday cancelled the 14th JPSC examination and agreed to investigate alleged irregularities through the CID and Enforcement Directorate, but student protesters rejected the offer and demanded a CBI probe. Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu said the government accepted 98% of demands but could not cancel the CGL exam as it was conducted under court orders. Student leader Ravindra Paswan said the agitation would continue and a march to the Vidhan Sabha is planned for August 10. Chief Minister Hemant Soren warned political parties against misleading the youth and said dialogue, not force, should resolve the issue. Nineteen people have been arrested so far in connection with the irregularities. Former JPSC panel chairperson L Khiangte has been questioned four times since July 28.
