# Tamil Nadu secures Rs 67,452 crore pledges from 97 firms

Tamil Nadu's maiden Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 on Thursday secured investment commitments worth Rs 67,452 crore from 97 companies, the state government said. The projects are expected to create over 1.2 lakh direct and indirect jobs. Major pledges include Germany's Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (Rs 4,000 crore), France's Saint-Gobain (Rs 2,000 crore), and Australia's AVID Group (Rs 15,000 crore), The Hindu Business Line reports. Hinduja Group committed Rs 2,500 crore for renewable energy, electric mobility and financial services, signing a separate MoU. The group plans over 200 MW of solar, wind and battery storage capacity across five districts, and will deploy electric buses through its unit OHM Global Mobility. Fifty-six projects are greenfield, and 25 companies are entering the state for the first time.
