A 25-year-old software employee, Edubilli Rajesh, has been missing since Monday, 26 October, after he was last seen at the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge in Madhapur, Hyderabad. He worked for Cognizant. His sister Edubilli Sandhya Rani lodged a complaint with Madhapur police, who have registered a missing persons case and begun a search. Police sources say Rajesh went to a friend’s room in Ayyappa Society between 2 am and 2:30 am, where he consumed alcohol, and then went to the bridge with the friend between 6:30 am and 7 am, disappearing shortly after. The Hans India reports he jumped into the lake. Teams of the National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force are searching the lake for his body. The reasons are not known.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Siasat reports Edubilli Rajesh, 25, a Cognizant software employee, went missing from Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge on Monday, 26 October, after consuming alcohol with a friend. It says police suspect he may have jumped into the lake. The Hans India states Rajesh died by suicide, jumping into the lake from the same bridge, and adds that NDRF and SDRF teams are searching for his body. The two accounts differ on the outcome: Siasat presents an unresolved missing persons case with a suspicion, while The Hans India reports a confirmed suicide, attributing the act without citing a witness or a body. The Hans India also notes this is the second techie suicide in Hyderabad in three days, linking it to another case from 25 October.
