# IAF Wing Commander arrested in honey-trap case after months of surveillance

The Indian Air Force had its own intelligence wing watching a serving Wing Commander for months before he was arrested on May 30 for allegedly leaking sensitive defence information to a Pakistani intelligence operative, the IAF confirmed on Saturday. The officer, posted at a Western Air Command base, was honey-trapped on social media by a woman who cultivated him during personal difficulties, police said. He was booked under the Official Secrets Act, and a chargesheet was filed on July 30. The investigation has now opened a second line of inquiry: the officer allegedly persuaded a colleague to install an application that may have contained spyware, potentially allowing data extraction or remote access. The woman is suspected to have been operating for Pakistan-based handlers. With the chargesheet before a competent court, the matter remains sub-judice.
