VARANASI: The Department of Metallurgical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) celebrated Metallurgy Day 2025 on Thursday with active participation from students and faculty members. The event featured a series of formal proceedings and enlightening addresses, highlighting the department’s academic and professional achievements.
The programme began with the institute’s anthem, followed by a welcome speech and annual report presentation by the Head of the Department, Prof. N.C.

Nandi, a distinguished figure in the field and Director of the DRDO Industry Academia Centres of Excellence (DIA CoE), attended the event as the chief guest. Delivering the memorial lecture on “From the Puzzles to Solutions: Navigating the Complex Field of Materials Development,” Nandi delved into the intricacies and challenges of modern science, sharing deep insights from fundamental research problems to real-world engineering solutions. His address provided valuable insights into the emerging landscape of metallurgical engineering, inspiring students to strive for excellence in education and innovation.
