# IIT grad leaves investment banking for ISB leadership programme

Gaurang Agarwal, an IIT Kharagpur graduate with a dual degree in Financial Engineering, has joined the Indian School of Business (ISB) Post Graduate Programme (PGP) after five years in investment banking. He worked at Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, and JPMorgan, specialising in derivatives and structured products. Agarwal told HT Digital that technical expertise in a single function was no longer enough for the leadership role he wanted. He chose ISB to gain exposure beyond finance, learning how sales, technology, operations, and strategy fit together. His peers in the programme come from consulting, manufacturing, healthcare, and the armed forces.
