Corroboration: 2 independent outlets

Filmmaker Siddharth P Malhotra has confirmed that sequels to his Netflix projects ‘Ikka’ and ‘Shaque: Trust No One’ are in development. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Malhotra said ‘Ikka 2’ and ‘Shaque Season 2’ are being written, with the latter featuring a new story rather than continuing the previous one. Malhotra expressed satisfaction with the response to ‘Shaque’, which stars Parineeti Chopra as a mother searching for her missing daughter. He noted the show remains number one on Netflix a week after release and is in the top 10 in 20 to 30 countries. ‘Ikka’, starring Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, had earlier drawn significant attention in 2026. Both The Times of India and Bollywood Hungama report that the projects are in the writing stage, with no release dates announced yet.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Both sources report the same facts from the same interview, with no difference in framing. Bollywood Hungama leads with Malhotra’s quote about call volume from South Bombay, while The Times of India adds plot summaries and Sunny Deol’s earlier quote. Neither outlet adopts a critical or political stance, the coverage is uniform straight reporting of an entertainment announcement. The only open question is when the sequels will be released, which neither source specifies.
