The India Meteorological Department has forecast light rain during the Independence Day ceremony at Red Fort on August 15. The sky will be generally cloudy with spells of very light to light rain, possibly beginning the night of August 14. The maximum temperature is expected to stay between 32°C and 34°C. Times Now reports a 70% probability of 5 mm rain between 4 am and 6 am, and a 60% chance between 6 am and 9 am. IMD has also issued a red alert for Delhi, though the forecast for the capital itself is for light rain, not heavy.
