Eastern Uttar Pradesh may see heavy rain on 7 and 8 August, followed by showers in parts of eastern and western districts on 9 and 10 August. Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Rae Bareli, Kanpur, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar and several other districts are on the alert. Itawa recorded the highest recent rainfall, with 126 mm in the tehsil and 120 mm in Chakarnagar. Delhi-NCR faced waterlogging and traffic disruption on Friday, with light to moderate rain forecast through the day and another spell possible in the evening. Aaj Tak reports 64 rain-related deaths and 14 landslides in Himachal Pradesh since the monsoon began.
