# India, China agree to use diplomatic and military channels on LAC

India and China have agreed to keep using diplomatic and military channels to address unresolved border issues and prevent misunderstandings along the Line of Actual Control, the Ministry of External Affairs said. The two sides met in New Delhi on Thursday under the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs. The Times of India and The Hindu report that discussions covered boundary delimitation, border management and trans-border cooperation. India also sought an early meeting on trans-border rivers and the sharing of technical details on upstream projects. The Indian delegation was led by Sujit Ghosh, while China’s was headed by Hou Yanqi. Both sides said peace and tranquillity along the border were essential for wider bilateral ties.
